Overview:
The Coca-Cola Company is a local business on a global scale. As our business has expanded over the years, so has our community support grown to create and support projects most relevant to local communities around the globe. We are committed to investing our time, expertise and resources to help develop and maintain vibrant, sustainable and local communities.

At the Coca-Cola Foundation, we help keep that commitment every day by partnering with organizations around the globe to support initiatives and programs that respond in a meaningful way to community needs and priorities.

Through our global foundation, funded by The Coca-Cola Company, we are concentrating our community support in several priority areas. Across the globe, we support initiatives focused on:

  • Water Stewardship
To support access to clean water and sanitation, watershed protection in water-stressed regions, utilization of water for production and or multiple use systems that do more than provide clean drinking water, education and awareness programs that promote water conservation within communities and industry

  • Healthy and Active Lifestyles
To support access to exercise, physical activity and nutritional education programs, programs that motivate behavior modification, and programs that encourage lifestyle/behavioral changes

  • Community Recycling
To increase liter abatement efforts, advance recovery and reuse, increase community recycling awareness, and support research and innovation

  • Education
To support scholarships, school drop-out prevention, access to education programs, and other education initiatives, per local business unit priorities

In Africa, Europe, Latin America, North America and the Pacific, we support student scholarships and other educational programs and initiatives. HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness programs are also community priorities in Africa and Latin America.

The Coca-Cola Foundation is our Company's primary international philanthropic arm. Founded in 1984, the Foundation was established in the U.S. as a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Foundations grants are awarded throughout the year on business plan priorities, tax requirements, legal compliance and approval by the Foundation's Board of Directors.

The Foundation has contributed more than $155 million in support of education.

Our community commitment is shared across the Coca-Cola system. When natural disasters strike, The Coca-Cola Foundation and the entire Coca-Cola system respond to offer emergency relief. Through the Coca-Cola Matching Gifts Program, eligible employees make personal contributions to qualified organizations and The Coca-Cola Foundation matches those contributions on a 2-for-1 basis.

The Foundation has contributed $164 million in support of community programs and initiatives.
