John M. Farrell is vice president, Strategic Planning,
The Coca-Cola Company. The Strategic Planning
function is responsible for leading the development of the
overall corporate strategy of the Company along with the
global planning process. Mr. Farrell brings broad domestic
and international experience to strategic planning, as he
has held major operations roles in North America, Europe
and Asia.
Mr. Farrell joined the Company's Bottling Operations in
1979, and then moved to Corporate Financial Planning and
Policy.
From 1981 - 1989, Mr. Farrell worked in Coca-Cola
North America (CCNA), where he held numerous positions in
Bottler Operations and Fountain. He was also director of
Business Planning for CCNA.
He then spent 10 years in Asia, first in region management
in Japan and subsequently, as president of Coca-Cola
China, based in Hong Kong.
From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Farrell was based in London, initially
as president of Schweppes Beverages, where he completed
the merger of that business into our Company in 2001. There
he was the director of Business Development and Strategy
for Europe, Eurasia and Middle East.
In 2005, Mr. Farrell returned to Asia to lead the Corporate
Strategy and Planning function for the Japan Business Unit.
Mr. Farrell has BS degree in Industrial Management from
Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University
of Virginia. A native of the United States, he also holds
a dual citizenship from the United Kingdom.
