Running For Health And Charity

May 12, 2006 edition

Thousands of runners joined the 2006 Jakarta race series, an annual Coca-Cola Indonesia sponsored event that helps highlight health awareness while also helping raise money for local charitable foundations.

Approximately 2,000 people participated in the event's first three races, which included a five kilometer running race and a fun run for children.

All participants received a medal to commemorate their efforts and a free chilled POWERADE® Isotonik.

Proceeds from the series' four races will go to Indonesian charities, including the One More Chance Foundation which provides at-risk children and young adults with shelter, food, clothing, health care, transportation, schooling and a caring home.

This is the third annual race series and it runs from March 26 until May 21.
